About The Position

AMHC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Full-Time School-Based Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) to join our team at the Calais Alternative School. This position provides behavioral and clinical support to students with moderate-to-severe behavioral needs while helping create a safe, positive, and productive school environment. The BHP serves as a role model, behavioral support, consultant, and clinical resource to students and school staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and using evidence-based behavioral strategies to support student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services related field.
  • Certifications in MANDT, First Aid, CPR, and Behavioral Health Professional certification are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the behavioral management program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral and clinical support to students within the classroom and school setting.
  • Observe and interact with students in accordance with their individual treatment and service plans.
  • Implement effective behavioral interventions and support positive behavior management practices.
  • Assist staff with implementing individualized behavior management programs and provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Collect, document, and analyze behavioral data using appropriate statistical and analytical methods.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Collaborate with school staff and clinical team members to promote quality service delivery.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, welcoming, and productive environment.
  • Participate in daily staff-student assignments and help coordinate appropriate supports.
  • Lead or assist with crisis response using MANDT procedures and help coordinate staff roles during a crisis.
  • Participate in debriefing sessions, multidisciplinary team meetings, review meetings, and PETs.
  • Accurately and timely complete required clinical and administrative documentation.
  • Follow all applicable clinical policies, procedures, regulations, and agency standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student, client, and agency information.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
