About The Position

Bellefaire JCB is a leading child service agency offering behavioral health, substance abuse, education, and prevention services. The Monarch Center for Autism, part of Bellefaire JCB, utilizes a visual language immersion teaching model that combines concept-driven language instruction with visual supports, technology, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As a Behavior Specialist at the Monarch School, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team of professionals working to help youth and their families achieve resiliency, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Must be currently in pursuit of a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or Psychology and taking coursework approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (pursuing either BCBA or BCaBA).
  • 1 Year Educational Aide Permit – Ohio Department of Education.
  • Pass Safety Care Core Curriculum by passing the written exam, attending the full duration of training, participating and passing the required role plays, and demonstrating the full competencies up to and including the Two-Person Stability Hold required.
  • Possess skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential duties of their role; keeps knowledge up to date.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups and communities who represent various cultural and personal background and characteristics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Functional Analyses (FA) under supervision.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage individualized Behavior Intervention Plans for assigned students.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans across school settings.
  • Utilize Behavior Skills Training to train others on Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Develop and maintain behavioral measurement and collection systems, including graphical data representations and progress-monitoring reports.
  • Observe students in the classroom regularly.
  • Organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments efficiently and within established time frames.
  • Train staff on principles of applied behavior analysis under supervision.
  • Consult and collaborate with directors, supervisors, teachers, and related service providers on behavior intervention techniques.
  • Communicate objective information to parents and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of behavioral goals and objectives in the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through timely documentation.
  • Utilize Safety Care procedures, including the Two-Person Stability Hold, as necessary.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  • Keep all required trainings, certifications, and licensure current.
  • Respect student privacy and maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
