About The Position

The School Assistant provides daily support to school operations by assisting with student supervision, instructional support, and front office coverage. This role ensures a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties may vary daily based on school needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced school environment.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in busy or challenging situations.
• Basic clerical and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow school policies, safety procedures, and directions from administrators.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk around campus, and supervise large groups of students.
• Ability to lift or move items as required for events or daily tasks (typically up to 25 lbs).

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision during Physical Education (PE) classes, including assisting the PE teacher with student monitoring, transitions, and safety.
• Supervise students during lunch , ensuring safe behavior and assisting with cafeteria flow.
• Support arrival and/or dismissal duties, helping maintain student safety and orderly procedures.
• Assist with general front office tasks such as greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing information.
• Support staff with distributing passes, helping students, and maintaining a professional atmosphere.
• Assist with clerical tasks as assigned (copying, filing, organizing materials, etc.).
• Provide coverage for staff breaks or absences as needed.
• Help maintain orderly and safe school environments by reporting concerns to administration.
• Collaborate with staff to support daily school operations and special events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by school administration to support daily school operations.
