About The Position

Providing assistance to teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of daily activities within the school setting. The Aide will work under the direct supervision of the principal to provide support as needed on the campus. Duties include making copies, delivering materials, and other projects as needed. The Aide will assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips. They will also assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather. The Aide must maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers. They will alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student. The Aide may assist staff and students in the use of educational computer programs and perform other related duties as required by the supervisor which do not require any professional skills. They may periodically work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
  • Texas Employees: TX Fingerprint Background Check required.
  • Ability to positively interact with all students.

  • Ability to identify individual student needs.
  • Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration and parents.

  • Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Must have the ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.
  • Must have the ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
