About The Position

The School Aide - Noon Aide provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students. The aide reports unauthorized personnel to the school office and monitors campus activities to promote student safety. Depending on assignment, the position may require completion of Crossing Guard training and a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. The role may also involve minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and dangerous situations, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
• Knowledge of basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures, and customer service principles.
• Skill in recognizing potential security risks and providing customer service.
• Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction.
• Depending on assignment, ability to complete Crossing Guard training may be required.
• Depending on assignment, a valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC) may be required.
• Physical abilities may include reaching, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. The role is described as sedentary work, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds and walking or standing required only occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Identify safety violations, diffuse situations among students, and reinforce positive social behavior.
