About The Position

Martha & Mary Kids is seeking a Full-Time Teacher for their Before & After School Program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, creating meaningful learning experiences, and being part of a supportive team. The position offers a split shift schedule during the school year, allowing for free mid-day hours. The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and joyful environment where children can learn, play, and grow.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience working with young children
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification
• Ability to obtain Child Care Basics within 3 months of hire
• Ability to pass the Washington State DCYF Background Check
• ECE Initial Certificate within 5 years
• Progress toward ECE Short Certificate (or equivalent) within two years of receiving Initial Certificate (or within two years of hire if you already have the Initial Certificate)

Responsibilities

• Support a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of each child
• Interact, connect, and encourage children to participate in daily activities
• Prepare a warm, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
• Plan weekly curriculum-based lesson plans with your supervisor
• Provide opportunities for assistants and team members to contribute ideas
• Help supervise, train, and support staff to build a positive, cohesive team
• Communicate with families in a friendly, professional manner
• Observe and document important child behaviors and milestones
• Model and teach positive behavior-guidance techniques
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
• Maintain program materials, supplies, and classroom readiness
