School Age Teacher / Bus Driver
About The Position
As a daycare teacher at The Sunshine House, you will play a crucial role in the safety, education, and childcare of children. This position involves implementing an award-winning curriculum, fostering positive relationships, documenting child milestones, and encouraging social behavior. Additionally, the role includes safely transporting children to and from elementary schools and field trips in a 14-passenger minibus, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and completing safety checks and drills. The Sunshine House has a 50-year legacy of providing high-quality early education and childcare.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Willingness to drive a 14-passenger minibus (no CDL required).
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and work while standing.
- Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- BSAC training required.
- Previous experience as a teacher at a licensed childcare center required.
Nice To Haves
- NCECC certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Implement award-winning curriculum in a way that meets each child's unique learning style.
- Foster relationships with children and provide a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Document and share with families the important milestones in a child’s day using our app.
- Encourage and model social behavior and expectations which are developmentally appropriate.
- Safely transport children to/from area elementary schools and field trips in a small bus.
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.
- Complete safety checks and drills.
