About The Position

Glassboro Child Development Centers is seeking an experienced School Age Group Leader to support our after-school programs. This role involves creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where school-age children can learn, grow, and thrive. The Group Leader will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate activities while supporting children's social, emotional, language, and physical development.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience working with children (preferably in a school or childcare setting)
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Associate (CDA)
  • Associate degree or 60 college credits in Early Childhood Education or related field

Responsibilities

  • Welcome children and families while creating a positive, supportive environment
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that support children's interests and development
  • Provide active supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Promote health and safety practices throughout the program
  • Observe children and document developmental progress and program participation
  • Communicate with families regarding children's needs, progress, and concerns
  • Support and mentor Assistant Teachers, Leaders, and volunteers as assigned
  • Assist children with bathroom and personal care routines as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Participate in required professional development and ongoing training
  • Attend staff meetings and agency events
  • Participate in reflective supervision
  • Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and material preparation
  • Participate in parent conferences as needed
