About The Position

Glassboro Child Development Centers is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Group Leaders to join our school-age programs. The role involves creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment where children can continue learning, building friendships, and having fun beyond the school day. Assistant Group Leaders support the planning and implementation of engaging activities while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Availability Monday–Friday, every day of the program schedule
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience working with children
  • Knowledge of school-age child development and positive guidance practices

Responsibilities

  • Welcome children and families and help create a positive program environment
  • Assist with communicating information and concerns to families as assigned
  • Support daily activities including homework help, group activities, indoor/outdoor play, and enrichment opportunities
  • Provide active supervision to ensure children's health and safety
  • Assist with classroom activities, materials preparation, and meal/snack routines
  • Assist with observing children and documenting participation and development
  • Support children with bathroom and personal care routines as needed
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
