About The Position
The School Age Childcare (SACC) positions are 10-month opportunities that follow the school calendar year, from September through June. Employees have the option to extend their employment by working in the Summer Camp program during July and August, based on program enrollment and staffing needs. This offers flexible scheduling for continued employment throughout the summer while supporting engaging programs for children year-round.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old (with valid NYS working papers for minors)
- 1 year experience working with children
- HS Diploma/GED
- 2 years experience working with children under 13
- Associate’s degree, School Age Childcare Credential, OR 18 college credits in a related field
- 1 year supervisory experience
- Maintain 30 hours of childcare-related training every 2 years
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test and physician’s clearance to work in childcare
- Basic computer skills, with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community
- Child Abuse Prevention (Supervisory Staff), CPR, First Aid, AED, Blood-borne Pathogens trainings (completed within 30 days of hire)
