School-Age Childcare Staff – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs in Connecticut for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and acting as a positive role model for children aged 5-12. The schedule follows the school calendar, with opportunities available for morning (7:00 AM - 8:50 AM), afternoon (3:00 PM - 5:30 PM), or both programs. This part-time, non-exempt position is ideal for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children.
Requirements
- 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
