About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for its Before and After School Program at Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Bernville, Pennsylvania, for the 2026–2027 school year. The part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar. The morning program runs from 7:00 AM to 8:35 AM, and the afternoon program runs from 3:20 PM to 6:30 PM. Staff may work the morning program, the afternoon program, or both. Pay is $13.50–$16.00 per hour.

The role supports children ages 5–12 through safe, engaging care and activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum. Staff help children learn through play and positive experiences, encourage curiosity and growth, and work collaboratively with teammates and families.

Healthy Kids Programs provides Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp programs at more than 150 locations. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have 2 years of experience working with children under 13.
• Be medically cleared of communicable diseases, including TB.
• Be warm, friendly, professional, and reliable.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
