About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Program at Oaklyn Public School in Oaklyn, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning (7:00 - 8:30 am) and/or afternoon (2:45 - 5:45 pm) programs. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and patience, encourages curiosity and creativity, works well with teammates, communicates effectively with families, and is reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This role is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children. The position involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, acting as a positive role model, observing state and school policies, and supporting program operations.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
