About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for its After School Program at Fonda-Fultonville Elementary School in Fonda, New York, for the 2026–2027 school year. The part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar and is scheduled from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Staff facilitate activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum, provide a safe and engaging environment, and support children’s learning and development. The program serves children ages 5–12. Employer-paid childcare is available for eligible school-age children enrolled in the program on the days and during the hours the employee works. Healthy Kids Programs describes itself as a certified Benefit Corporation providing Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp programs at more than 150 locations. Its stated mission is to make childcare accessible and affordable while creating meaningful opportunities for children, families, and team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of experience working with children under age 13.
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
