School-Age Childcare Staff – After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring part-time School-Age Childcare Staff for its After School Program at Los Ninos Elementary School and Sierra Vista Elementary School in Las Vegas, New Mexico, for the 2026–2027 school year. Staff support children ages 5–12 through engaging activities and provide a safe, healthy, and fun program environment. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM. Friday hours vary between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Pay is $12.00–$16.00 per hour, with payday every other Friday. The role is non-exempt. Healthy Kids Programs operates Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp programs at more than 150 locations. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Must be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working with children under 13 is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
