About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at William J. Christian Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and operates Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM. The role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, enjoy encouraging their curiosity and creativity, and can work effectively with teammates and families. The program provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. This position is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
  • Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
  • Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
