School Age Childcare Site Director - Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Site Director for our Before and After School Programs at our Knowlton Township Elementary School in Delaware, NJ location for the 2026–2027 school year. The Site Director is the heart of a Healthy Kids Programs location. You'll lead the daily operations of the site by creating a safe, engaging program that children love and families trust. You'll support and coach your team, build strong relationships with families and school partners, and ensure the program meets Healthy Kids Programs' quality standards and all licensing requirements. This position is especially well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience with children and classroom management, and retirees who enjoy staying active, mentoring children, and giving back to the community. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
- Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
- Focus on results, not excuses.
- Purpose driven.
- Motivating, positivity, leadership.
- Empathy, professionalism, G-rated work environment.
Nice To Haves
- Some college or early childhood coursework preferred
- Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the site by creating a safe, engaging program that children love and families trust.

- Ensure kids are engaged, safe, and having fun every day.
- Ensure the program reflects Healthy Kids Programs’ model and families consistently choose to re-enroll.
- Ensure the site is fully staffed every day.
- Ensure teachers are prepared, supported, and showing up for the kids.
- Ensure the site operates in ratio at all times.
- Ensure records are accurate and current.
- Ensure the program is ready for inspection on any given day.
- Ensure the site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need.
- Ensure restocking happens before it becomes a problem.
