About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and mission-driven Site Director for its high-quality before and after school program. This full-time position involves supporting a kindergarten-wrap program in the morning at McKnight Elementary School and leading the day-to-day operations of the afterschool program at Highcliff Elementary in the afternoon. The Site Director is crucial in implementing curriculum, ensuring licensing and quality standards, and providing excellent customer service to families and school partners. Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related field AND 1 year of experience
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree which includes 30 credit hours in ECE or related field AND 2 years of experience working with youth
  • OR Associate Degree in ECE or related field AND 2 years of experience working with youth
  • OR Associate Degree AND 30 credit hours in ECE or related field AND 3 years of experience working with youth
  • OR Associate Degree AND 4 years of experience working with youth AND 1 Year Management/Supervision Experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program at one or more sites.
  • Ensure delivery of supervision, program curriculum, and excellent customer service to parents, school administrations, and the public.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to staff.
  • Learn and follow the standards and practices for high-quality care and education in a Keystone STARS STAR 4 center.
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Public Welfare (DHS) licensing requirements and safety standards, including staff to child ratios, at all times.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with staff training requirements set by DHS, Keystone STARS Quality Initiative, and the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh.
  • Collaborate and work with Federal and community agencies and state licensing.
  • Assist in the recruiting, screening, training, supervising, and evaluating performance of all teachers.
  • Use a variety of tools for measuring staff performance, such as observations, check lists, conversations, workshops, reading materials, resource materials, and accomplishment of growth goals.
  • Maintain complete and current records for children and staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong parent and volunteer relationships to support everyday operations, special activities, and quality improvement.
  • Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and manuals for center operations, parents, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
