About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at Grimshaw Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and operates from 2:15 pm to 6:00 pm. The role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, bring energy and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The ideal candidate works well with teammates, communicates effectively with families, and is reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This role is particularly well-suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. Requirements

• Candidates may qualify with an Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
