School-Age Childcare Assistant – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, or retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The position involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and acting as a positive role model for children aged 5-12. Some positions may also involve management functions like record-keeping and registration.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
