About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at our Dixie Elementary School location for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The position requires teamwork and effective communication with families. The program provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) on the days and during the hours worked by the employee. This role is particularly suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. Success in this role involves ensuring program quality with engaged and safe children, maintaining adequate staffing, adhering to compliance standards, and managing inventory of supplies.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB
• Warm, friendly, and upbeat demeanor
• Exceptional people skills
• Professional, reliable, and prompt
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and keep up with children

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13

Responsibilities

• Engage children in activities, ensuring they are safe and having fun.
• Reflect Healthy Kids Program’s model in daily operations.
• Ensure the site is fully staffed and teachers are prepared and supported.
• Operate in ratio at all times and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure the site is well-stocked with necessary supplies and materials.
• Restock supplies before they run out.
