About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Edgewood School in Bristol, CT for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning (7:00 AM - 8:45 AM), afternoon (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM), or both programs. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy, kindness, and patience, enjoys encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence, works well with teammates, communicates effectively with families, and is reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
