About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Programs at William B. Tecler Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, bringing energy, kindness, and patience to each day. The position involves encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and working collaboratively with teammates and families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to exceptional care are key. This position is particularly well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The role is part-time, non-exempt, with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. The schedule follows the school calendar, with morning program hours from 7:00 am to 8:30 am and afternoon program hours from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm. Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
