About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Programs at Quinton Township Elementary School in Quinton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both programs. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and acting as a positive role model for children. Some positions may also involve management functions like attendance records and registration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
  • Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
  • Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
  • Demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (in certain positions).
