School-Age Childcare Assistant – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Pittsburgh Manchester Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors looking for hands-on experience, or retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The position involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and adhering to program policies. Some positions may also involve management functions like attendance tracking and registration.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
