About The Position

The YMCA operates School Age Child Care (SACC) and summer day camp programs at schools within the Lancaster Central School District. The Multi-Site Coordinator plans and implements the program curriculum and provides direction to staff at multiple SACC program sites, and serves as the day camp director during the summer.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Meets School Age Child Care Director licensing requirements per NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS): Associate’s Degree in a child care/development related field or two (2) years of college with eighteen (18) credit hours in a childcare/development related field.
• Two (2) years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
• Able to lead activities for elementary school age children including group work, values education, and age- appropriate activities.
• Experience in program administration and staff supervision.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with participants, parents, school administration, and staff.
• American Red Cross, American Health Association, American Safety & Health Institute certification in CPR/AED (Adult, Child, Infant) and First Aid.
• Successfully completes the OCFS comprehensive background clearance requirements before beginning work at the program site.

Nice To Haves

• Responding to Emergencies certification is preferred.
• Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as “site director” on the OCFS SACC license for the assigned program sites.
• Implements and maintains policies, rules, regulations, and standards as required by the NYS Office of Child and Family Services, school administration, and YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
• Plans and implements weekly lesson plans. Follows all YMCA program standards.
• Provides leadership and direction to staff. Enforces policies and procedures.
• Develops and publishes the staff schedule. Fills in for absences.
• Supervises the children, the program area, and all activities.
• Follows and enforces department protocol to clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of program/work areas. Ensures PPE compliance.
• Provides a safe environment for all activities. Enforces safety rules and reports/treats any injuries.
• Performs various administrative tasks in compliance with YMCA procedures and regulatory agencies.
• Maintains all program supplies and equipment.
• Reacts to customer feedback and implements plans to improve program quality.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and school administration.
• Responsible for communication to parents, school administration, YMCA, and OFCS.
• Maintains all required certifications. Attends and participates in all staff meetings and training sessions.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.
