School-Age Care Counselor - John Rogers Elementary
About The Position
Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking a School-Age Care Counselor for John Rogers Elementary School. This role involves guiding and supporting children aged 5-12 by providing active supervision, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, and creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging after-school environment. ARC's programs aim to provide a fun, creative, safe, and welcoming space for children to learn, play, and grow. The primary location is Meadowbrook Community Center, but the program is delivered out of John Rogers Elementary School.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or other secondary education.
- Experience working with school-age children ages 5-12.
- Ability to create engaging experiences that support children's learning, development, and well-being.

Responsibilities
- Assists and leads in the application of daily curriculum activities with a classroom of children ages 5-12 years old.
- Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth.
- Helps ensure a ratio of 1:10 (staff to children) is maintained as much as possible to ensure that children are safe and always accounted for.
- Collaborates with and supports fellow School-Age Care staff and receives guidance, coaching, and direction from the ARC School-Age Care Director.
