Provides highly skilled administrative and financial management support for school operations. Oversees complex recordkeeping, accounting, compliance, and reporting functions. Serves as a lead office specialist and resource for school administration. This role includes all functions of School Administrative Specialist I and II positions, in addition to managing school business, activity, and budget accounts in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. The specialist will maintain and reconcile accounting systems, including monthly bank reconciliations, and prepare and process purchase orders, budget transfers, and journal entries. They will review and process check requests for compliance and documentation, identify IRS 1099 vendors, and prepare and submit required reports. Additionally, the role involves preparing quarterly and annual tax reports, reconciling daily cash receipts, and monitoring internal controls. Record maintenance of purchase orders, outstanding obligations, and sales tax collections is also a key responsibility. The specialist will coordinate financial aspects of school activities and events, maintain athletic participation records, verify required documentation (e.g., physicals), and prepare related reports. Oversight of inventory management for school-related merchandise and activities, ensuring compliance with all applicable financial policies and auditing standards, and providing guidance and technical expertise to school office staff are also essential functions. The role serves as a liaison with district departments including Fiscal Services and Human Resources.
