About The Position

South Carolina Bridge Connections Academy (SCBCA) is a tuition-free, full-time alternative education campus serving students from 16-21 years old across the state of South Carolina in grades 9-12. SCBCA is authorized under state law by the Charter Institute of Erskine and operated by Low Country Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy LLC. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by Cognia.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications is essential
  • Intermediate or higher skill level in MS Excel
  • Proficiency with Google Applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Documents, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality (FERPA)
  • Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Customer focused approach
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced team environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as answering phones and email, receiving visitors, assisting the principal and teachers with administrative tasks, filing and other duties as assigned.
  • Entering data into the online student information system
  • Answering the phones
  • Speaking with parents and students
  • Outbound communication via phone, online chat and email with various stakeholders
  • Generating required reporting and school specific form collection
  • Preparing reports for teachers and administrators by collecting, entering, and analyzing information and data
  • Ability to assist in the training and mentoring of new administrative assistants
  • Keep projects and reports on schedule
  • Demonstrate ability to organize resources and a planned approach in order to execute projects efficiently and timely
  • Motivated, self-starter who can work independently and in cross-functional team environment
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
  • Excellent follow-up skills; e.g. obtaining missing paperwork or checking in with people to keep a project moving forward
  • Assist school Principal with a wide variety of daily responsibilities
  • Additional duties as assigned
