About The Position
Attleboro Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute School Adjustment Counselor for Studley Elementary School. This position is responsible for developing and delivering social, emotional, and behavioral supports and strategies to help students achieve their fullest potential. The role involves providing counseling, conflict resolution, and collaboration with staff, families, and community providers to support student well-being and success.
Requirements
- Experience with CPI or Safety Care.
- Experience with students with trauma, anxiety, and/or oppositional disorders.
Nice To Haves
- Licensed as a Social Worker or LMHC in MA preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build and support rapport among staff, families and students
- Effectively apply clinical skills within an educational setting
- Provide school-based individual and small group counseling support to students with social, emotional and behavioral needs
- Provide conflict resolution support to staff, families and students
- Serve as a member of the school based Critical Incident Team
- Serve as a member of the Student Support and Special Education Team
- Collaborate with staff to develop IEPs, Section 504 Accommodation Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavioral Intervention Plans, and Building/Safety Plans
- Provide consultation services to staff, families and students regarding social, emotional and behavioral concerns
- Provide consultation support regarding the accessibility of community-based medical and mental health services
- Maintain communication with community-based medical and mental health service providers
- Assist with the facilitation of student safety assessments
- Support student transition from mental health facilities/hospitals to school
- Support student transition across grade and academic levels
- Support school-wide initiatives and District Accommodation Plan
- Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee
