Under general supervision of the Associate Dean, and the lead direction of the Scholarly Communication Librarian, the Scholarly Communications Coordinator provides specialized support for development and maintenance of collections in ScholarWorks, the university’s institutional repository. Independently evaluates electronic repository documents to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Receives and prepares documents for submission to ScholarWorks, creates and edits metadata records, researches copyright ownership and publisher agreements on behalf of faculty, communicates with publishers regarding use permissions, makes graduate students’ theses and projects accessible, and assists with campus outreach. Provides leadership and training for library personnel on accessibility best practices and guidelines in service of compliance with ADA regulations. In collaboration with the Scholarly Communication Librarian, supports the coordination of research data management (RDM) activities, which requires broad technical knowledge, independent decision-making, and directly supports faculty with research data management. Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
