About The Position

The Part-Time Scholar Success Coach plays an important supporting role in delivering high-impact, holistic programming for Scholars enrolled in the CORE Academy program. Working alongside full-time Coaches and school partners, this role primarily supports in-room program delivery, Scholar engagement, and structured learning experiences that promote academic growth, social-emotional development, leadership, and personal success. In this part-time role, the Coach serves as a trusted adult in the learning environment, helping facilitate activities, reinforce expectations, and support positive Scholar engagement. Coaches are expected to bring consistency, professionalism, and relational warmth while contributing to a safe, structured, and supportive program environment. This position requires a relationship-driven, dependable, and equity-minded professional with experience working with youth in school or community-based settings. The ideal candidate thrives in structured environments, is comfortable supporting group facilitation, and is committed to helping Scholars navigate academic and personal growth opportunities. This is a part-time, seasonal school-based role aligned to the Clark County School District academic calendar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, social work, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience required).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with youth in educational, afterschool, or community-based settings.
  • Experience working with diverse youth populations (ages 10–15) strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to build positive, respectful relationships with youth.
  • Comfortable supporting group facilitation and classroom-style environments.
  • Understanding of basic youth development principles and restorative practices.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to follow structured programming plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to take direction in real time.
  • Culturally responsive and equity-minded approach to youth engagement.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel independently to assigned school sites.
  • Must be able to work in active school environments with varying noise and activity levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support facilitation of engaging, age-appropriate workshops focused on SEL, leadership development, life skills, academic support, and college/career readiness.
  • Serve as a “helping hands in the room” by assisting with lesson delivery, group activities, and Scholar engagement.
  • Reinforce classroom expectations using approved proactive behavior support and restorative approaches.
  • Help create and maintain a positive, structured, and emotionally safe learning environment.
  • Support enrichment experiences that foster identity, purpose, resilience, and community connection.
  • Serve as a consistent, supportive adult role model for Scholars during programming.
