About The Position

The Outpatient Services Scheduling Specialist is responsible for the care coordination of the Outpatient Services Center. This includes effectively coordinating the scheduling, pre-registration, registration, and coordination of OPS Center patients and specialty consulting physicians' office clinics. The specialist will provide a warm, welcoming first impression for the Outpatient Services Center while handling multiple patient inquiries and problems. They will follow defined standards of work to optimize hospital financial outcomes and patient satisfaction. The role involves coordinating the comprehensive care of outpatients frequently via telephone, including receiving physician's orders, coordinating multiple services, rescheduling patient appointments, and connecting patients to appropriate resources. The position also involves maintaining a clean, safe work environment within the Outpatient Services Center, utilizing time and resources wisely, and adhering to department and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to think critically and problem solve in short time frames.

Nice To Haves

Two years health related experience with an emphasis on registration or insurance processing preferred.
