This position uses specialized knowledge to support key areas of the organization related to an area of expertise. The role serves as a peer influencer and may direct a project or project team by applying industry experience and specialized knowledge. Specifically, the Specialist I is responsible for pre-registration, scheduling, electronically verifying insurance eligibility, and accurately identifying and collecting patient financial responsibility. This includes handling complex scheduled events, such as high dollar testing and associated studies with specific instructions, and communicating effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service. This role initiates the overall patient experience and the billing process for hospital services. The Specialist II level requires comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems and demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes.
