The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for arranging procedure scheduling and pre-admission testing, scheduling patients in the appropriate department, and verifying all demographic information. This role also confirms the date, time, and location of appointments for patients, enters intra-procedural data into the computer, and registers and schedules patients. The position provides customer service and clerical support, accepts, records, and verifies insurance information, and processes preauthorization requests, collects copays and account balance payments. Additionally, the coordinator scans documents into EMR and performs other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department. A key aspect of this role is ensuring all interactions with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers, and physicians are conducted in a friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate manner.
