About The Position

As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules. Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • One year experience working in inpatient or outpatient physician office
  • Bachelors Other in a related field upon hire or (experience may be accepted in lieu of education)

Nice To Haves

  • Three years experience in Perioperative/Centralized scheduling preferred
  • Procedural scheduling experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies.
  • Ensure timely scheduling through effective communication.
  • Accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation.
  • Process reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
  • Coordinate block scheduling for the department to ensure maximum utilization of OR time.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely communication occurs.
  • Provide training to physician office staff as needed to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Conduct ongoing visits as needed to support strategic growth of service lines.
  • Coordinate surgery schedule and collaborate with centralized scheduling for the hospital to ensure schedule is completed within appropriate guidelines.
  • Serve as a resource for physician surgeon regarding scheduling needs.
  • Assist management with the daily operations of the department.
  • Ensure staff records and requirements including appropriate licenses and certifications are maintained.
  • Maintain timekeeping records for the department to ensure employees time is being appropriately recorded.
  • Notify management of any discrepancies in timekeeping records.
