About The Position

The Infusion Center Scheduling Coordinator performs infusion scheduling and various routine clerical tasks support to the Infusion Center Department. The Infusion Center Scheduling Coordinator schedules and coordinates all infusions, blood transfusions, and injection appointments. Tracks and coordinates all scheduling changes and cancelations. Will ensure valid authorization is obtained and attached to appointment, ensure authorization matches with physicians’ order. May handle insurance inquiries; explains deductible and payments if necessary. Works closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager or Clinical Director, Charge Nurse, Financial Counselor, and other members of the nursing team to trouble-shoot, resolve problems and provide administrative support and triage calls. Infusion Center scheduling coordinator will work directly with clinic staff and patients to provide information and complete documentation to assure quality of care. Maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and other visitors, and fellow employees. Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology and procedures
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding systems.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and computerized practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft office programs and electronic health records systems).
  • Demonstrates good telephone management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with interruption and able to multi-task
  • Critical thinking, the ability to identify problems, good solving skills to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Use of customer service principles and practices
  • Good English communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, proofreading, editing and composition skills
  • Demonstrates good communication skills
