The Scheduling Coordinator will communicate regularly with physicians, patients, ancillary and surgical areas to manage the scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single or multiple tests and procedures. This role requires providing accurate information regarding department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to ensure proper patient preparation, arrival location, and time. The coordinator must be proactive, listen actively, show a caring attitude, and offer alternatives when necessary. Excellent telephone etiquette, a team player attitude, and professional communication skills are essential. A strong understanding of Orlando Health's Patient First Philosophy for customer service is expected. The role involves utilizing registration and scheduling systems, web-based resources, and various office equipment. A basic understanding of medical needs during the screening process for scheduling appointments is necessary. Daily review and communication of schedule changes to appropriate staff are required, along with meeting departmental goals for productivity, quality, and customer service. Knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes may be necessary. The coordinator will identify and resolve customer service issues or initiate follow-up. Adherence to the Orlando Health Professional Appearance Policy, attendance policies, and all other Orlando Health policies and procedures is mandatory.
