About The Position

Trillium Health Partners is one of Canada’s largest community-based teaching hospitals, serving the growing and diverse populations of Mississauga, West Toronto, and surrounding communities. The Scheduling Clerk will maintain staffing operations throughout the department, obtain daily staff requests and fill them efficiently, process employee vacation requests, and secure coverage for vacancy shifts. This role involves upholding an accurate system for tracking staff over a variety of shifts, monitoring the equalization of hours of employees as per Collective Agreement, and coordinating with Team Leaders on new staff onboarding and training schedules. The clerk will also track and document all staff training, carry out payroll functions for large Corporate Services groups, and work with Team Leaders and Managers to verify payroll accuracy. A key responsibility is to create a six-week schedule for all Corporate Services groups. Additionally, the role involves answering phone calls, providing front-line service, following up on task completion and customer requests, printing and collating reports, and inputting and making changes to schedules and rosters. Any other tasks as assigned will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Secondary school graduate, and Business/Office Admin education preferred
  • Minimum two-year relevant experience in payroll and scheduling in a unionized environment preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, handling sensitive issues and problem solving with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and Meditech)
  • Excellent analytical and leadership skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven organizational and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated good work and attendance record required
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and scheduling practices required
  • Knowledge of scheduling software’s is an asset

Nice To Haves
