The Scheduling Clerk is responsible for scheduling operative and endoscopic procedures, ensuring adequate time, checking privilege lists, and resolving conflicts related to time, equipment, and space. This role involves managing the notification process for new cases, add-ons, changes, and cancellations. The clerk also prints and faxes schedules to physician offices for confirmation, makes necessary changes, and notifies Anesthesiology about specific case times and blocks. Coordination with Clinical Directors and Managers regarding block time is essential, as is conferring with physician offices to make approved changes to block time. Additionally, the position provides clerical support to other areas, assists with patient phone calls, and promotes positive communication with physicians, their staff, and coworkers. The role also involves promoting a positive image of Watson Clinic Surgery Center, assisting patients with payments in the PFS Department, creating payment arrangements when necessary, and staying updated on current practices in scheduling, verification, and admission departments to better assist patients.
