About The Position

This role requires active participation in safety, cost management, process improvement, plant scheduling, and production flows. The Scheduler/Planner will be responsible for planning and executing the Paper Machine Scheduled Annual Shut Down work, as well as periodic (10-14 hour) scheduled Paper Machine Shut Down work. This includes coordinating and scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly activities for the Maintenance Group, managing Paper Machine Rolls and their repairs, and overseeing annual repair and maintenance costs. The position involves close collaboration with peers to ensure quality work execution, establishing goals aligned with the company roadmap, and effectively managing resources like parts availability for planned work through efficient planning and scheduling. The role also requires utilizing maintenance metrics to achieve annual production and reliability goals, participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis to improve mill reliability, and coordinating weekly planning meetings to ensure operations personnel are informed of upcoming maintenance activities and to verify the schedule and priority of work. Promoting an integrated work environment between mechanical and electrical craftspeople is also a key aspect of this role. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in scheduling/planning facility maintenance activities in an industrial environment.
  • Strong skills in project planning and maintenance scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Paper Machine Scheduled Annual Shut Down work
  • Plan and execute periodic (10-14 hour) scheduled Paper Machine Shut Down work
  • Coordinate and schedule Daily, weekly and monthly Activities for the Maintenance Group
  • Manage Paper Machine Rolls & Roll repairs
  • Manage Annual Repair and Maintenance cost
  • Work closely with Peers to ensure work is being accomplished in a quality manner
  • Help establish goals and objectives to align with company roadmap
  • Effectively manage available resources (i.e. parts availability for planned work) on daily basis through efficient planning and scheduling activities
  • Utilize maintenance metrics to achieve annual production and reliability goals as defined
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis process to improve Mill overall reliability
  • Coordinate weekly planning meetings to ensure operations personnel are knowledgeable of upcoming maintenance activities, verify schedule and priority of work
  • Promote an integrated work environment between mechanical and electrical craftspeople
