About The Position

This job schedules surgeries, tests, procedures, and office visits; obtains authorizations from insurance carriers. It involves scheduling and coordinating operating room, primary care and specialty office visits, tests, procedures and/or surgeries. The role also includes completing reservation forms for hospitals, physician orders for upcoming procedures, tracking medical clearances, and obtaining all billing information. Additionally, the scheduler is responsible for obtaining authorizations for inpatient and outpatient procedures, transcribing reports, notes and correspondence, answering phones, filing patient information, preparing charts, and performing general office tasks. The position requires adherence to ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and data security guidelines, as well as the company's Code of Business Conduct.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Computer experience and keyboard skills.
