This position involves answering telephones, routing calls, taking messages, and providing general information. It also includes greeting and directing visitors, answering routine inquiries, and maintaining a log of inquiries as required. The role performs various typing assignments, including medical transcription, and operates a computer for drafting correspondence, data entry, and printing reports. The Scheduler will also perform specialized clerical/administrative services according to established guidelines. Key duties include scheduling patients and physicians for office visits, radiation treatment, chemotherapy infusion treatment, and nurse practitioner follow-ups, as well as coordinating with the healthcare team to provide patient care. The role also provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. When scheduling appointments, the Scheduler screens patients for new address, new patient visits, or registration updates and inputs information into the scheduling system. General office duties such as word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, and data entry are also part of the role. Other duties as assigned.
