About The Position

Manage pipeline nominations, volumetric balances and other related activities. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated individual with a desire to contribute knowledge, ideas, and continued learning. Position to have remote work considerations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
One plus years of Natural Gas scheduling or relevant experience.
Understanding of the natural gas pipeline industry’s scheduling processes.
Understanding of the commercial aspects of the natural gas industry, with a comprehensive understanding of the commercial aspects of Tallgrass’ business.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Organize and prioritize daily work.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Be flexible and respond effectively to changing schedules, priorities, and other urgent situations.
Grasp and execute Gas Scheduling responsibilities.
High level of concentration.
Remain focused and exercise good judgment under highly stressful situations.
Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

Commercial experience
Pipeline operations and procedure experience.
Proficient in other interstate pipelines’ services, operations and scheduling processes.
Working relationships with external scheduling personnel and customers, with an understanding of the business needs of both and the ability to extract value from those relationships.
Working knowledge of NAESB Standards and Guidelines as it relates to Nominations, Scheduling & Confirmations.

Responsibilities

Must be proficient in all aspects of the scheduling process for natural gas pipelines including nominations, scheduling, trade confirmations and allocations.
Accurately complete cycle nominations in an efficient and timely manner.
Develop working relationships with counterparties that include an understanding of their business objectives.
Perform as a strategic liaison in helping develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, pipelines, utilities, and suppliers.
Understand contractual rights and types of services as defined by the tariffs and apply those concepts to the scheduling process.
Ensure positions are accurately recorded in trade management systems.
Monitor and advise on pipeline capacity release opportunities.
Communicate market information with trading and identify arbitrage and trade opportunities.
Strong skills in problem recognition, troubleshooting and resolution capability.
Analyze, evaluate and understand all impacts of potential solutions, being able to provide multiple alternatives with sound recommendations.
Recognize business opportunities and understand how to turn them into revenue opportunities.
Strong understanding of market dynamics and the impacts on scheduling.
Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of tariffs, counterparty contracts.
Accurately, effectively and appropriately represent the group internally & externally, with sound judgment being required.
Effective team member who maintains a positive attitude on a consistent basis, promotes a positive attitude within the group and readily volunteers to take on additional tasks.
Successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines efficiently and accurately.
Must show initiative and the ability to progress in knowledge and capability for all scheduling functions.
