About The Position

Manage pipeline nominations, volumetric balances and other related activities. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated individual with a desire to contribute knowledge, ideas, and continued learning. Position to have remote work considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • One plus years of Natural Gas scheduling or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the natural gas pipeline industry’s scheduling processes.
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of the natural gas industry, with a comprehensive understanding of the commercial aspects of Tallgrass’ business.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Organize and prioritize daily work.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Be flexible and respond effectively to changing schedules, priorities, and other urgent situations.
  • Grasp and execute Gas Scheduling responsibilities.
  • High level of concentration.
  • Remain focused and exercise good judgment under highly stressful situations.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

  • Pipeline operations and procedure experience.
  • Proficient in other interstate pipelines’ services, operations and scheduling processes.
  • Working relationships with external scheduling personnel and customers, with an understanding of the business needs of both and the ability to extract value from those relationships.
  • Working knowledge of NAESB Standards and Guidelines as it relates to Nominations, Scheduling & Confirmations.

Responsibilities

  • Must be proficient in all aspects of the scheduling process for natural gas pipelines including nominations, scheduling, trade confirmations and allocations.
  • Accurately complete cycle nominations in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Develop working relationships with counterparties that include an understanding of their business objectives.
  • Perform as a strategic liaison in helping develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, pipelines, utilities, and suppliers.
  • Understand contractual rights and types of services as defined by the tariffs and apply those concepts to the scheduling process.
  • Ensure positions are accurately recorded in trade management systems.
  • Monitor and advise on pipeline capacity release opportunities.
  • Communicate market information with trading and identify arbitrage and trade opportunities.
  • Strong skills in problem recognition, troubleshooting and resolution capability.
  • Analyze, evaluate and understand all impacts of potential solutions, being able to provide multiple alternatives with sound recommendations.
  • Recognize business opportunities and understand how to turn them into revenue opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and the impacts on scheduling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of tariffs, counterparty contracts.
  • Accurately, effectively and appropriately represent the group internally & externally, with sound judgment being required.
  • Effective team member who maintains a positive attitude on a consistent basis, promotes a positive attitude within the group and readily volunteers to take on additional tasks.
  • Successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines efficiently and accurately.
  • Must show initiative and the ability to progress in knowledge and capability for all scheduling functions.
  • Contribute to the team in an effective and positive manner.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The annual salary range for this position will be $80,700-$144,600/yr.
