About The Position

The Scheduler IV will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of project schedules, reviewing contractor schedules for contract conformance and quality assurance, and evaluating contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule. This role involves performing time impact analysis, critical path and earned value analyses, and identifying schedule-related problems with recommended corrective actions. The position requires conducting construction/project site visits for progress reporting, reviewing contractor progress, and evaluating recovery schedules. Additionally, the Scheduler IV will perform cost analysis, prepare cost-loaded schedules for cash flow projections, and interpret and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines. Effective communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple sites are essential. This is an on-site position located at Los Angeles Pierce College and Los Angeles Harbor College, requiring the candidate to commute to assigned worksites and make project site visits as necessary.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs
  • Experience with time impact analysis
  • Experience with construction claims and change orders
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering and scheduling
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera scheduling software and MS Office applications, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies; perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule; participate in change order negotiations.
  • Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims.
  • Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses to measure project performance and forecast schedule outcomes.
  • Identify schedule-related problems that arise during project execution and recommend corrective actions and creative solutions.
  • Conduct construction/project site visits for progress reporting.
  • Review contractors’ weekly and monthly schedule progress; prepare narratives of findings, and submit and present them to management for decision making.
  • Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules.
  • Perform cost analysis in support of the design and construction phases of capital projects, and analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance.
  • Prepare cost-loaded schedules to support comprehensive cash flow projections.
  • Understand, interpret, and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and work in a fast-paced environment across multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
