About The Position

Skillforce is currently hiring Scenic Journeyman Carpenters in Orlando, FL for upcoming projects. The Scenic Journeyman Carpenters is responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing wooden structures and components in a controlled shop environment. This role focuses on precision craftsmanship, reading plans, and preparing materials for installation.

Requirements

Proven experience as a scenic carpenter or shop carpenter
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

5-6+ years of professional carpentry or fabrication experience (depending on level)
Knowledge of different wood types and materials
Familiarity with CNC machines (a plus)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and project specifications
Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials based on blueprints or shop drawings
Operate woodworking tools and machinery (saws, routers, sanders, drills, etc.)
Build cabinets, frames, fixtures, doors, and custom wood products
Construct and assemble wood components for cabinetry, furniture, scenic elements, and themed environments.
Create layouts, cut lists, and perform CNC cutting or programming (for applicable roles)
Inspect materials for quality and ensure accuracy of finished products
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field teams
Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures or components
Follow all safety procedures and company standards
