About The Position

Wizard Studios is seeking a skilled Scenic Fabricator to join their team. This role involves crafting sets, activations, vignettes, props, objects of art, and environments for special events. The ideal candidate will be disciplined, possess a high personal drive, and be conscientious with details and accuracy, maintaining high standards for quality work even in a fast-paced environment. The position requires above-average attention to detail, concern for high-quality work, and a strong commitment to completing tasks on time. The candidate will manage their specialized work efficiently, confidently, and competently.

Requirements

3 + years of experience in scenic, carpentry, electronic assembly, CNC operation, floral design, costume sewing, upholstery, sculpting, or other related fields.
Proficiency with the use of shop equipment and tools.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail.
Excellent listener and communicator (verbal and written).
Ability to prevent and/or minimize material waste.
Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
A strong desire to learn and grow with the company.
Working knowledge of Google Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Work in a fast-paced environment while managing specialized work efficiently, confidently, and competently.
Maintain high standards for high-quality work.
Complete work outlined in the created Production Schedules and Fabrication Decks tailored to each unique project.
Work under the supervision of Build Leads to ensure all builds are true to the design, installed efficiently, and meet safety requirements.
In-shop and on-site fabrication, installation, or breakdown work required.
Specialized skills may include, but are not limited to, carpentry, scenic or mural painting, finishing work, etc.
Ability to create and contribute to a structured, organized, and efficient workplace environment.
Accountability for great results in high-pressure situations.
Ability to focus on the big picture and quickly make well-thought-out, well-analyzed decisions.
Multi-task and remain focused on critical objectives.
Read and follow directions, blueprints/schematics, and renderings or sketches.
