About The Position

The Scan Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the store's scanning and pricing systems. This role involves coordinating training for scanning team members, verifying and scanning all UPC-marked items, ensuring timely and accurate price changes on all items, shelf tags, and in-store signs, and maintaining correspondence with the in-store price file. The Scan Coordinator also contributes to store profits by monitoring pricing for errors and ensuring their immediate correction. Additionally, this position supervises the maintenance of scanning equipment, provides a professional example for team members, assists guests with inquiries, and supports the Store Leader with team member evaluations and disciplinary actions. The role requires strong customer relations, morale building, and collaboration with other department managers.

Requirements

  • Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, etc. required.
  • Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, two-wheeler, etc.
  • Previous experience as a cashier is required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages required.
  • An understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork as assigned by store management is required.
  • 18 years of age.
  • 21 years of age required to sell tobacco products and/or alcohol.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Store Leader for the training of all team members involved with scanning.
  • Tests, verifies, and scans all UPC marked items in store on a rotation basis.
  • Implements frequent price verifying on direct-store delivery items.
  • Ensures changes for all prices marked on all items, shelf tags and in-store signs.
  • Ensures all in-store price markings are timely and accurate.
  • Maintains exact correspondence with the in-store price file.
  • Continually monitors pricing for errors and ensures they are corrected immediately.
  • Ensures self and scanning team members maintain productivity standards.
  • Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
  • Updates price books on all price changes on a weekly basis.
  • Supervises repairs and maintenance of scanning equipment.
  • Provides a professional example for other team members to follow.
  • Is aware of product and department locations and assists guests with their inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assists Store Leader with evaluations of scanning team members and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Attends and contributes to departmental, store and company meetings as required.
  • Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other department managers with the objective of improving sales storewide.
  • Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
