About The Position

The Scan Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the store's scanning and pricing systems. This role involves coordinating training for scanning team members, verifying and scanning UPC items, managing price changes, and maintaining scanning equipment. The Scan Coordinator also contributes to store profitability by monitoring pricing for errors and ensuring productivity standards are met. Additionally, this position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to maintain good working relationships with other departments, and adherence to company policies. The Scan Coordinator provides a professional example for other team members and assists with team member evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.

Requirements

Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
Basic computer skills required.
Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, two-wheeler, etc.
Previous experience as a cashier is required.
Basic math skills required.
Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages required.
An understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork as assigned by store management is required.
18 years of age.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern.

Nice To Haves

Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, etc. required.
Supervisor skills preferred.
21 years of age required to sell tobacco products and/or alcohol.

Responsibilities

Coordinates with the Store Leader for the training of all team members involved with scanning.
Tests, verifies, and scans all UPC marked items in store on a rotation basis.
Frequent price verifying on direct-store delivery items.
Ensures changes for all prices marked on all items, shelf tags and in-store signs.
Ensures all in-store price markings are timely and accurate.
Maintains exact correspondence with the in-store price file.
Contributes to the profits and revenues of the store.
Continually monitors pricing for errors and ensures they are corrected immediately.
Ensures self and scanning team members maintain productivity standards.
Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
Updates price books on all price changes on a weekly basis.
Supervises repairs and maintenance of scanning equipment.
Provides a professional example for other team members to follow.
Is aware of product and department locations and assists guests with their inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
Assists Store Leader with evaluations of scanning team members and disciplinary actions as needed.
Attends and contributes to departmental, store and company meetings as required.
