About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates scaling equipment to remove loose rock and debris from mine walls and ceilings in an underground limestone mine. The position involves conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance on equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the mining team. The work environment is underground with heights of up to 27 feet and temperatures between 50-60 degrees.

• Must be able to visually evaluate roof and rib conditions.
• Must perform within the guidelines of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
• Must be punctual and have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Operate scaling equipment to remove loose rock and debris from mine walls and ceilings.
• Conduct regular inspections of mine areas to identify and address potential hazards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on scaling equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Support the mining team with various tasks as needed.
• Visually evaluate roof and rib conditions.
• Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic.
• Conduct and document pre-operational safety inspections on assigned equipment.
